Rocky Mountain National Park Wedding at Moraine Park Amphitheater

A lot of all the good things in life happened at this wedding. Close friends, windswept mountaintops, good beer, and an overall feeling of sweet, long-awaited relief. Megan planned most of their Rocky Mountain National Park wedding by herself. Shortly after getting engaged, Brandon left for South Korea where he was stationed with the Air Force. Wedding planning is already stressful as is, and I can't even imagine doing it without your fiance there to help you. Needless to say, the day felt so significant because it meant finally getting to be together after such a long time of being apart.

I LOVE shooting weddings in national parks and forest areas because it always means a little bit of adventure is involved. Rain threatened the morning, but by the afternoon it cleared out and gave us beautifully warm sunset light. We drove up Trail Ridge Road with Megan & Brandon and walked down a trail to a rock outcropping overlooking the Rocky Mountains. Neither of them had been up to that spot in RMNP before, and we all reveled in awe at the rugged surroundings.

Megan & Brandon met unexpectedly at a bar, so it was only right to celebrate their story in a bar. We drove down from the mountains and met at the Wheel Bar in downtown Estes Park. We ate mac & cheese, drank beer, and toasted to all that Megan & Brandon were committing to that day.

Down to the smallest details, the choices Megan made in planning the wedding were all filled with such honest sincerity, pointing back to the story Megan & Brandon have built together.
